Back by popular demand the Yellow Umbo mushroom is unlike any of the others you’ve tried on the menu. This mushroom is the first cross species mushroom that’s been available on the market.
Almost all of the mushrooms that are available on the open market are of the species psilocybe cubensis. Cultivars (strains) vary from mushrooms like Penis Envy, Golden Teacher, Avery’s Albino, etc. They are all still psilocybe cubensis species however the characteristic vary from strain to strain slightly.
Yellow Umbo is a cross between psilocybe cubensis and psilocybe natalensis. The psilocybe natalensis is a more potent species but has its own problems with concerns regarding cultivation. Crossing it with psilocybe cubensis helped limit those concerns while raising the potency level.
I’ve just harvested a fresh stock of these guys (Yellow Umbo) and have started using a different drying method to help better sustain the potency of the mushrooms grown.
If you’ve tried other strains and felt they weren’t as potent as you’d like then give the Yellow Umbo a try. You won’t be disappointed.

The Green Cap Thrasher is going to be the 2nd most potent mushroom I have available and a strain that many enjoy including myself.
The Avery’s Albino are a more mid-level potency mushroom. They’re more chill and something more fitting for beginners or those that don’t use mushrooms that often.
Remember, mushrooms can vary greatly between individuals. What works for one person may not work for another.
